Dr. Balog Ádám started his career in 2002 at Tungsram Lighting Zrt., following which he worked at consultant PricewaterhouseCoopers.
After 2010, he participated in the modernisation of the Hungarian tax system as Deputy State Secretary for Tax Affairs at the Ministry of National Economy.
Between 2013 and 2015 he was Vice President of Magyar Nemzeti Bank and member of the Monetary Council. Under his stewardship, the Funding for Growth Scheme was established and the monetary policy toolkit was renewed.
From July 2015 to December 2020, he was CEO and President-CEO of MKB Bank Plc.
Dr. Balog Ádám plays a leading role in the operation of several social organisations and institutions. He is a board member of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a member of the Consistory of the University of Pécs and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Sopron Foundation. He has been the Vice President of the International Children’s Safety Service from June 2021.
He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, Officer’s Cross.
He is married and the father of four children.
