Dr. Ádám Balog began his career in 2002 at Tungsram Lighting Zrt, then worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting. From 2010 he was Deputy State Secretary for taxation at the Ministry of National Economy participating in the modernisation of the Hungarian tax administration system. In 2013-2015 he was Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Hungary and Member of the Monetary Council. He supervised the development of the Funding for Growth Scheme with engagement in reforming the monetary policy toolkit.
He has been Chairman and CEO of MKB Bank since 2015.
Dr. Ádám Balog holds multiple responsibilities in numerous social organisations and institutions. He is Presidium Member of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Chairman of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MKB Pannónia Alapkezelő Zrt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MKB-Euroleasing Zrt, with membership in the Consistorium of the University of Pécs and in the University of Sopron Foundation Board of Trustees.
He regularly publishes articles in the field of fiscal and monetary policy and organisation and management theory.
He was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.
He is married with four children.
